This month, we're in Marrakech, the perfect winter escape with endless sunny days, exotic charm, and a fascinating selection of resorts. Not much is new in terms of hotels, so I revisited classics: La Mamounia, with its reimagined public areas and dining facilities; the timeless Amanjena, which added new private pools to some pavilions; the Mandarin Oriental, which made a splash in 2017; and the peaceful Oberoi with its breathtaking architecture. I chose not to include any Riads in this issue, as most are glorified B&Bs. La Villa des Orangers, once the only seriously managed option, has changed . . .
