This month I returned to the Cape, beginning in the city and ending in the Winelands, a familiar route but one that always reveals something different when you look closely enough.
In Cape Town I stayed at Ellerman House, a place that still feels more like a private home than a hotel, with its terraces, its unapologetically South African art collection, and a sense of quiet order that hasn’t changed much over the years, I also spent time at The Cellars-Hohenort in Constantia, a property where the gardens and older buildings set the tone.
